An early foundation in fine-woodworking and pottery was Jonathan’s foray into art making. His later studies culminated in advanced degrees in Liberal Studies and Fine Arts from the University of Miami and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago respectively.
Jonathan’s projects have been featured in: the Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale; the Torrance Art Museum in CA; the Frost Art Museum in Miami; the Union League of Chicago; Art Monaco; Scope - Basel, Miami, and New York; and ArtPulse Magazine.
He was awarded the South Florida Cultural Consortium for Visual Art in 2010; an artist's grant and residency at the Vermont Studio Center in 2013; an Arts, Science, Culture Collaborative Initiative grant to work with a physicist from the University of Chicago in 2014; and a summer fellowship at the Oxbow School of Art in 2004. Currently, Jonathan can be found working in his South Florida studio, teaching college part-time and cultivating his butterfly garden while hanging out with feline friends.
